I really feel that having piano lessons is a gift that truly lasts a lifetime, and I feel so honored to be a part of that gift.

Hi! My name is Karen Pino and I have been teaching piano in the Northern Virginia area for the past 17 years. Before that, I taught piano in Southern New Jersey, and before that on Long Island in New York! Every step of the way, I have believed that my studio is a family, and I love to see each of my students grow and develop!
Fun!
Piano lessons and playing the piano should be fun! Whether it is a holiday recital at a mall, an annual studio recital, group lessons, a studio pizza party, a St Patrick’s Day celebration party (complete with Irish potatoes and us all playing Irish songs!) and even individual weekly lessons, I believe that the student should have fun and learn that playing the piano is enjoyable!
Hi! My name is Karen Pino and I have been teaching piano in the Northern Virginia (Ashburn, and currently Berryville) area for the past 18 years. Before that, I taught piano in Southern New Jersey, and before that on Long Island in New York!
During the early part of my teaching career, I attended Westminster Choir College, where I received a ton of musical experience, and a Bachelor's degree in Music Education with an emphasis on piano. Over the years, I have continued to enjoy music by singing in choirs; being involved with musicals by accompanying, acting and directing; teaching music in schools; and teaching piano.
Truthfully, I was never interested in being a solo performer, that's just not me. I do, though, love to teach piano - I love to see students get excited about music, I love seeing them discover what style(s) of music they really like, and I love helping them to play a piece the best way that they can. I really feel that having piano lessons is a gift that truly lasts a lifetime, and I feel so honored to be a part of that gift.
